Established in the 1844, St. Patrick Cemetery is the oldest cemetery maintained by Catholic Cemeteries. St. Patrick is located in the heart of Providence (on the corner of Chad Brown and Smith Streets), situated over 7.75 acres of land. St. Patrick Cemetery was primarily used by the early Irish immigrants of Rhode Island, and is generally associated with St. Patrick Church of Providence. With more than 18,000 burials, St. Patrick Cemetery is filled to capacity, but remains open for visitation from loving family members and friends.
